Description
The SONO M660 ultrasonic thickness gauge is a modern measuring instrument that combines the opinions and expectations of our customers and many years of experience of Metrison in the design and production of measuring devices. The thickness gauge has been developed for a wide range of customers, and with its advanced measuring functions and rich equipment, it is predisposed for use in research and development units, laboratories, inspection units, directly in production and services.
The SONO M660 thickness gauge works with 5 types of ultrasonic probes and is designed to perform precise, fast and non-destructive thickness measurements of flat and profiled materials, and especially wall thickness measurements of components accessible from one side, such as tanks, pipes, ship hulls, other closed structures. Using a properly selected ultrasonic probe, the thickness gauge allows to measure the thickness of elements made of various materials, including those covered with a protective layer or corroded. It is particularly useful to use a thickness gauge to analyze the state of wall thickness when the tested objects are in continuous operation, eg tanks containing harmful substances, pipelines, boilers operating under pressure and at high temperatures up to 300 ⁰C.
The SONO M660 ultrasonic thickness gauge is distinguished by advanced functions, a wide measuring range from 0.7mm to 600mm, a color display, an intuitive menu, easy operation, housing protected by a silicone cover, resistant to difficult working conditions. The modern design of the gauge allows the ultrasonic wave velocity to be smoothly adjustable from 1,000 to 9999 m/s or to use pre-programmed wave velocity settings for 22 types of basic materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, iron, cast iron, gold, silver, zinc, tin, nickel, titanium, epoxy resin, Plexiglas, PVC, ceramics and others. For precise testing, the gauge additionally allows user calibration on samples of the materials being measured. It is possible to select the resolution of the displayed measurement result: 0.1mm, 0.01mm, 0.001mm or 0.01in, 0.001in, 0.0001in. Measurement modes PE (Pulse-Echo), EE (Echo-Echo) as well as normal, scanning, differential operating modes, setting alarm thresholds with visual and audible signaling significantly simplify the analysis of performed tests and significantly affect the comfort of working with the gauge.
The thickness gauge is equipped with a memory that can store a total of 10,000 measurements in 100 files of 100 measurements each. The measurement results can be analyzed directly on the gauge or on a computer after transferring data via USB 2.0 and the supplied software.
The gauge features a 320x240 pixel color display with smooth brightness adjustment and automatic dimming after a user-specified time to save power. The display provides very good working conditions both indoors and outdoors in full sunlight. Working comfort is complemented by an ergonomic keypad with an intuitive key layout, allowing easy menu navigation and quick access to all gauge functions. The gauge is protected by a standard silicone cover or a reinforced silicone cover for harsher conditions. A durable carrying case is included to protect and carry the thickness gauge and all accessories.
