Description

The UFD M620C is an advanced ultrasonic flaw detector distinguished by a color TFT LCD monitor, offering advanced signal processing algorithms and many functions designed to meet the demanding requirements of inspections.

Extensive flaw detection and dimensioning functions enabling the examination of both thin and thick materials with very high attenuation, work with high gain, narrowband filters to improve the signal-to-noise ratio, extensive adjustment and tuning of important parameters such as square wave generator, transmitter amplitude, attenuator, significantly expand the possibilities and range of applications that can be handled with a portable instrument.

The UFD M620C Ultrasonic Flaw Detector can be widely used in measuring and locating hidden cracks, gaps, gaps and similar discontinuities in welds, forgings, billets, axles, shafts, pipelines, pressure vessels, turbines and structural components.

 display

A color TFT LCD display with a resolution (320×240 pixels) with four user-selectable brightness levels allows for high-contrast display of waveforms both in direct sunlight and in complete darkness. The 60 Hz TFT LCD display provides an "analog" appearance of the waveforms, providing detailed information that is a key factor in many applications.

Reception

Up to 6000 mm in steel adjustable in selectable steps. The wide range is especially useful for examining large objects as well as for high-resolution measurements.

Transmitter

Adjustable impulse excitation between several levels: 200V, 300V, 400V, 500V, 600V. The pulse width of the transmitter is adjustable from 100 ns to 500 ns, enabling the device to be adapted to work with probes of different frequencies. Pulse repetition frequency adjustable from 10 Hz to 1 KHz in 1 Hz steps. Attenuation selectable between 68 Ω, 100 Ω, 150 Ω, 500 Ω allowing for optimal operating parameters of the head. Operating modes for heads: transceiver, dual and penetration mode.

Receiver

Gain from 0 dB to 110 dB adjustable in steps of 0.1 dB, 1 dB, 2 dB, 6 dB. Analogue bandwidth 0.5 MHz to 15 MHz with adjustable frequencies to achieve optimal operating parameters of the head. 10-bit A/D converter with a sampling frequency of 160 MHz. Signal rectification: positive half-wave, negative half-wave, full-wave and RF rectification.

Goals

Two fully independent peak-triggered or flank-triggered gates offering a range of measurement options for signal height or distance. In the echo mode - echo allows you to accurately set the gate position for signals that are very close to each other. The start of the gate is set in the entire displayed range. The width of the gate is adjustable from the beginning of the gate to the end of the displayed range. Gate height adjustable from 0 to 99% of full display height. Visual and audible alarms set above or below the threshold.

Memory

1000 file memory for storing calibration settings and 10000 file for storing waveforms and instrument configuration. All files can be stored, recalled and deleted.

 video

Video recorder for recording in the internal memory about 1 hour of scenes displayed on the flaw detector screen.

Functions

  • Automatic calibration of head zero offset and/or material velocity.
  • Displaying the amplitude of defects in real time in the form of the actual course of the wave path, depth and horizontal projection.
  • Digital readout and trigger. Thickness/depth can be displayed in digital readout mode when normal head and beam path are used. Distance, plan, and depth are displayed when the angle head is used.
  • Both DAC and AVG (DGS) methods are available for signal analysis.
  • Curved Surface Correction function.
  • Crack Height Measure function.
  • Weld imaging function.
  • Gate zoom - stretching the gate area to the entire width of the screen.
  • Automatic gain control function.
  • Envelope function to display the current waveform and the envelope of the displayed waveform simultaneously.
  • The Peak Hold function on the display allows you to compare a "frozen" peak waveform to the current waveform for easy interpretation of test results.
  • Freeze function freezes waveform and data display.
  • B-Scan display function.

Real Time Clock.

The instrument's clock provides timekeeping.

Communication

Communication via the USB port enables control of the flaw detector or transfer of saved data and images from the performed inspections.

 Battery

Li-ion battery pack with a nominal voltage of 7.2V and a capacity of 8800 mAh is charged inside the device. It provides 10 hours of nominal operating time, depending on the brightness of the display. Typical charging time is 8-10 hours.

Adjustment knob, keyboard

Adjustments are made easily with a knob or keypad.
